I carved this unique and whimsical bark house in a piece of Cottonwood bark. Yes, this is actual bark from a Cottonwood tree.
I like to imagine the "Littles" that inhabit this unique dwelling. There are a two entrances to this little home, a chimney, stone walls, wooden gable ends and a set of very nice stairs. The Little that lives here is very proud of his unique home.
I really like the natural shape and texture of this bark. It's like a house that was formed in and with nature- everything about it seems natural.
This is a free-standing sculpture.
This sculpture is carved from one piece of bark and finished with oil and wax. I signed and dated the bottom.
Everything in my shop is made by hand, by me, Josh.
I created this sculpture using chisels and rotary hand tools (similar to dentist tools). A good deal of time was put into this whimsical casa.
This carving measures 4 3/4" tall, 3 1/2" wide and 1 5/8" thick.
SHIPPING IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF THE CARVING TO THE USA! Please see my Policies for international shipping.

Yes, I sometimes take custom orders :) Contact me and we can discuss the specifics.
I really enjoy creating themed walking sticks such as Odin, Thor, Baron Samedi or many, many other possibilities. If you'd like a stick with bears, owls, or whatever else you might have in mind, just shoot me a message and we can discuss it.
I am also happy to make custom chainsaw carvings of about any animal or object you'd like.
I know that, as a customer, you expect a certain level of control over the custom process and I, as an artist, expect a certain level of freedom. When we are able to meet in the middle, beautiful things can happen :)
Don't be afraid to message me :) Thanks so much!
My carvings can be cleaned using many different methods. A feather duster works nicely. Compressed air (duster or air compressor) also works well. If on a porch or indoors, my carvings will never need a new coat of sealer. Chainsaw carvings that are outdoors will need a fresh coat of sealer each year.
