Beech hardwood…
“Public Intox”
I carved this gnarly dude in a piece of Beech. His drunken head is carved into a walking stick, so that he can help you get home safely. Don’t let him drive, but he will be happily assist you in stumbling around. No worries, he won’t let you fall.

This is a very strong and sturdy walking stick.
I carved this guy using several different bits and burrs. I began with aggressive cutters, and finished with a bit as small as a needle. This stick is finished with 3 coats or urethane, along with thinned, oil paints to accentuate the cuts.
I include a certificate with all of my Wood Spirit Carvings.

I really enjoy creating themed walking sticks such as Odin, Thor, Baron Samedi or many, many other possibilities. If you'd like a stick with bears, owls, or whatever else you might have in mind, just shoot me a message and we can discuss it.
I am also happy to make custom chainsaw carvings of about any animal or object you'd like.
I know that, as a customer, you expect a certain level of control over the custom process and I, as an artist, expect a certain level of freedom. When we are able to meet in the middle, beautiful things can happen :)

My carvings can be cleaned using many different methods. A feather duster works nicely. Compressed air (duster or air compressor) also works well. If on a porch or indoors, my carvings will never need a new coat of sealer. Chainsaw carvings that are outdoors will need a fresh coat of sealer each year.
