This is a chainsaw carving of a tree. It is an original piece of wood carving art. This tree was hand carved be me, Josh Carte, here in Ohio. It is a very unique wood sculpture and will make a perfect wood gift. It looks great on your porch, in your yard, on your desk...It even looks great out amongst real trees.
This carving weighs around 3 1/2 pounds. It stands 15 1/2" tall, 7" wide and almost 6" thick. I made this tree wood carving from a single piece of driftwood. I began with a plain old piece of river driftwood and shaped it into this wonderful tree using a chainsaw as my only carving tool. When I finished with the chainsaw, I torched the fuzz off of the carving and sanded using a flap sander. That's it! No other tools were used.
I sealed this carving with a very high quality Sherwin Williams Superdeck oil sealer. This carving can be placed outdoors or indoors.

Chainsaw carvings are made of live wood. Live wood can change a little over time as it dries. Splitting/checking may occur over time. This only adds to the character of this carving created using tools of demolition. My logs have seasoned for several years. White Pine splits very minimally and I have removed a lot of wood from this carving, so the possibility of checking is minimal. Chainsaw carvings should be cared for the same way you would care for outdoor furniture. A barrier between the carving and it's desired location is recommended. If exposed to the elements, a new coat of urethane should be applied one to two times per year.

Care instructions
My carvings can be cleaned using many different methods. A feather duster works nicely. Compressed air (duster or air compressor) also works well. If on a porch or indoors, my carvings will never need a new coat of sealer. Chainsaw carvings that are outdoors will need a fresh coat of sealer each year.
