This is a handmade woodworking, made by me, Josh Carte. This wizard sculpture makes a perfect wood gift for a birthday or a gift to oneself.

16" tall, 3 1/4" wide, 1 5/8" thick...
I created this sculpture in a piece of Cottonwood bark. This is actually a piece of bark from a tree.. Cottonwood bark grows very thick and has a lovely, red color. I left the pipe the natural color of the bark. It is a soft medium for carving, and is very unique and whimsical.
This is a wall-hanging sculpture, created by my two hands. This is a one-of-a-kind carving. There will never be another just like this. I sign and date the back of all of my wood spirit carvings. I also include a certificate telling a bit about me and the story of the character.
I carve using rotary hand tools (very similar to the tools of a dentist). There is a hand piece, a flexible shaft and a foot pedal, all powered by a hanging motor that assist me in bringing my visions to life. I like to use just a tad of oil paint to accentuate my cuts.

Custom and personalized orders
Yes, I sometimes take custom orders :) Contact me and we can discuss the specifics.
I really enjoy creating themed walking sticks such as Odin, Thor, Baron Samedi or many, many other possibilities. If you'd like a stick with bears, owls, or whatever else you might have in mind, just shoot me a message and we can discuss it.
I am also happy to make custom chainsaw carvings of about any animal or object you'd like.

Care instructions
My carvings can be cleaned using many different methods. A feather duster works nicely. Compressed air (duster or air compressor) also works well. If on a porch or indoors, my carvings will never need a new coat of sealer. Chainsaw carvings that are outdoors will need a fresh coat of sealer each year.
