This is a wood carving of a rose in a piece of Cherry hardwood. This wood sculpture will make a great gift for Valentine's Day, an anniversary, birthday or any other special occasion for her. This is a handmade woodworking, hand-carved by me, Josh Carte.

I hand- carved this rose in a single piece of Cherry wood. This sculpture began as a piece of firewood. Most of the bark had fallen off and this piece of wood's destiny was to go to the wood stove...Until... I grabbed this block of Cherry and decided to try to make a rose from it. I used an axe, bandsaw, angle grinders and finally my Foredom, rotary hand tool. When I finished all of the shaping and detail, I added several coats of urethane to seal the wood.
This rose measures 9" long and 1 7/8" at the widest point.
This is a very, very clean and beautiful rose. She will love it!
This wood carving is made of dry, stable wood that will last a lifetime :)
Roses can mean so many different things. They can be symbolic of love, hope, joy, birth.... The list just goes on and on.

I really enjoy creating themed walking sticks such as Odin, Thor, Baron Samedi or many, many other possibilities. If you'd like a stick with bears, owls, or whatever else you might have in mind, just shoot me a message and we can discuss it.

Care instructions
My carvings can be cleaned using many different methods. A feather duster works nicely. Compressed air (duster or air compressor) also works well. If on a porch or indoors, my carvings will never need a new coat of sealer. Chainsaw carvings that are outdoors will need a fresh coat of sealer each year.
