This is a tobacco pipe with a happy face carved into it. I made this piece from a raw block of Curly Maple wood.
This tobacco pipe is 7 1/4” long total.. The wooden part of the pipe is 2 1/4” long. The face is 1” tall x 1 1/4” wide.
I carved this pipe using several tools. I began with a block of beautiful Curly Maple wood. I drilled it out, sanded and then began carving. I carve using various rotary bits and grinders.
I finished this tobacco pipe with mineral oil. I used just a dab of oil paint to accentuate my cuts. I torched the inside of the chamber to season the wood just a bit. This pipe is brand new and has never been used!

I really enjoy creating themed walking sticks such as Odin, Thor, Baron Samedi or many, many other possibilities. If you'd like a stick with bears, owls, or whatever else you might have in mind, just shoot me a message and we can discuss it.
I am also happy to make custom chainsaw carvings of about any animal or object you'd like.
I know that, as a customer, you expect a certain level of control over the custom process and I, as an artist, expect a certain level of freedom. When we are able to meet in the middle, beautiful things can happen :)

My carvings can be cleaned using many different methods. A feather duster works nicely. Compressed air (duster or air compressor) also works well. If on a porch or indoors, my carvings will never need a new coat of sealer. Chainsaw carvings that are outdoors will need a fresh coat of sealer each year.
