This is a wood carving of a wood spirit. This is an original sculpture, hand carved by me, Josh Carte. This is a sculpture in a piece of Driftwood. It will make a perfect wood gift for him or her. This handmade woodworking is a really unique piece of wall art.
I carved this female face in a piece of Driftwood. I wanted to mix the natural roughness of the driftwood with the refined beauty of this lady into this piece. I carved her using several different rotary hand tools. I use a tool similar to a Dremel or dentist's tool. I used many different bits, some very aggressive, some fine as needles to create this sculpture. I finished this piece with a couple coats of polyurethane. Then, I applied thinned oil paints to bring her to life.

This sculpture measures 13 1/8" tall, 5 3/4" wide 3" thick.
I include a certificate telling a bit about myself with all of my wood spirit wood carvings! I also sign and date the back of each carving :) This is a wall-hanging carving.
Female faces are tricky to carve :) I don't make a whole lot of them, so each new piece teaches me a little more.
Everything in my shop is made by hand, by me, Josh Carte. I don't have any elves or helpers. I am in charge of the carving, packing, shipping, communication and everything else in between. Care instructions
My carvings can be cleaned using many different methods. A feather duster works nicely. Compressed air (duster or air compressor) also works well. If on a porch or indoors, my carvings will never need a new coat of sealer. Chainsaw carvings that are outdoors will need a fresh coat of sealer each year.
