I made this carving using only a chainsaw. I really like the rustic look of this style. I didn’t sand or seal this piece. It feels rugged and natural this way.

I made this tree from a green (meaning there was moisture in the wood) piece of Box Elder. I only used a chainsaw to carve it. Once I finished carving, I dried this piece to a very low moisture. What this means is this: 1) The carving won’t leave any moisture marks on the surface it touches. 2) It won’t ever split or crack over time. 3) No bugs.
It is important to me that this piece lasts a lifetime. That is why I go the extra mile to ensure that the moisture content is very low.

Care instructions
My carvings can be cleaned using many different methods. A feather duster works nicely. Compressed air (duster or air compressor) also works well. If on a porch or indoors, my carvings will never need a new coat of sealer. Chainsaw carvings that are outdoors will need a fresh coat of sealer each year.
