This is a wood carving that hangs on the wall. I made this carving in a long piece of Ironwood. I love the natural color and texture of this beautiful wood.
“Slide Me Some Skin, Kin”.. 21” long, 1 3/4” thick at widest point..

I began this carving with a long, thin piece of wood that had a couple of branches growing from it. The branches became the long nose and the hand. I used hand tools, exacto knives, rotary tools, sandpaper, polyurethane and a bit of oil paint to bring this guy to life. He sure was a lot of fun to create.
I will sign and date the back of this piece. I will also include a certificate telling a bit about me and my process.
When you buy from an artist, you are buying more than just a piece of art. You are buying years of failure and moments of pure joy. You are buying a piece of the artist.
I carve everyday for a living :) I love carving. It brings so much happiness to my life. I hope you enjoy my work half as much as I enjoy creating it.

I really enjoy creating themed walking sticks such as Odin, Thor, Baron Samedi or many, many other possibilities. If you'd like a stick with bears, owls, or whatever else you might have in mind, just shoot me a message and we can discuss it.
I am also happy to make custom chainsaw carvings of about any animal or object you'd like.
I know that, as a customer, you expect a certain level of control over the custom process and I, as an artist, expect a certain level of freedom. When we are able to meet in the middle, beautiful things can happen :)

My carvings can be cleaned using many different methods. A feather duster works nicely. Compressed air (duster or air compressor) also works well. If on a porch or indoors, my carvings will never need a new coat of sealer. Chainsaw carvings that are outdoors will need a fresh coat of sealer each year.
