This is a wood carving of a face, hand carved in a piece of Cottonwood bark. Yes, this is actually the bark from a Cottonwood tree. The bark of Cottonwoods, grows very thick, and is an excellent carving medium.
“Schlub”... 5 1/4” tall, 2 1/4” wide, 2 1/4” thick...
I include a certificate of authenticity with all of my wood spirit carvings. It tells a bit about me and my process. I will sign and date the back of this carving. When you receive this piece, all you need to do is find the perfect spot to hang it.

I made this guy using tools similar to those of the dentist. I used different bits to remove a lot or a little with each swipe, depending on the bit. I finished detailing this guy using small knives. There is no sealer, paint or stain used on this carving. I like to leave most of my bark carvings natural.

I really enjoy creating themed walking sticks such as Odin, Thor, Baron Samedi or many, many other possibilities. If you'd like a stick with bears, owls, or whatever else you might have in mind, just shoot me a message and we can discuss it.

Care instructions
My carvings can be cleaned using many different methods. A feather duster works nicely. Compressed air (duster or air compressor) also works well. If on a porch or indoors, my carvings will never need a new coat of sealer. Chainsaw carvings that are outdoors will need a fresh coat of sealer each year.
